Bright blue skies, mild temperature outside, fresh air...what could be better than a short-ish ride out with a couple of great stops along the way? This route is pretty simple and is also good for beginners as there are stretches with wider, straighter roads but with some country roads in beautiful Devon countryside. You can also add in a small loop and come and check out what's new at T2W!
So here it is: Plymouth-Totnes-Kingsbridge-Plymouth (A38/A385/A381/A379)
From Plymouth take the A38 to the Dartington/Totnes turn off (A385) and then follow the road to Dartington and Totnes. Then from Totnes, follow the A381 to Kingsbridge, taking the scenic route back to Plymouth via the A379. We suggest you time it so that you start at about 10am, allowing for a couple of stops along the way and aiming to get to Cap'n Jaspers on Plymouth Barbican, a well known biker-friendly venue, for a cuppa and burger for lunch!
Points of interest along the way:
Totnes: Interesting shops and quirky atmosphere. There's also an award-winning Sunday Food Market on the 3rd Sunday in every month.
Trago2Wheels: Just go a little further up the A38 before taking the turn off to Totnes and visit us! Grab a cuppa and see what's new. It's a good time to chat to the team if you have any questions or need any help with kit, tools, etc... You can then rejoin the A38 and head back to the Totnes turn off!
South Hams: The scenic route through the South Hams between Kingsbridge and Plymouth takes in some lovely countryside. If you fancied stretching your legs along the way with a quick stroll, there are some great beaches, including Beesands and Mothecombe.
